Is Anyone Out There?
THE SEARCH FOR EXTRATERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE
The most sophisticated cellular phone systems in the world are really useless unless, as we say, “the call goes through.” The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) has been trying for over 30 years to put a call through from the massive deep space radio telescope in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, to a cluster of millions of stars called M13. The encoded “call,” when deciphered, describes the chemical nature of life on earth and the details to the location of our solar system.

Contacts to date? None. Successes to date? None. None whatsoever. So, is something wrong? Yes, something is tragically wrong, because the Extraterrestrial Intelligence that is out there has already spoken: “God does speak ... though man may not perceive it” (Job 33:14 NIV). Despite the most intense scientific endeavors, God’s Word, the Bible, is the only source of communication with us from out of this world.

His call is going throughout all the world every day by all manner of communication – TV, radio, Internet, phone, newspapers and magazines, such as the one you are now reading. Will you listen or hang up?

The Bible says: “The God who made the world and everything in it ... gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man He made every nation of men ... and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him ... For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed” (Acts 17:24-27,31). That Man is Jesus Christ.
